Foreword
The ability of technology to interact with the physical world reliably and accurately requires
precision sensor measurement, leveraging high-performance signal conditioning to digitize
sensor data for processing. Precision is crucial when designers need to be confident in the
measurements upon which their technology is based—for example, in industrial automation,
instrumentation, and digital healthcare, where important decisions are based on accurate data.
Reliable extraction and use of sensor data is a challenging task, and each application has unique
design requirements.
At ADI, precision technology is evolving rapidly: our latest devices offer breakthrough
performance in precision, speed, and power efficiency. We are focused on solving precision
measurement challenges by enabling engineers to match our technology to their design
requirements quickly and leverage our design tools and decades of experience to accelerate the
implementation of our signal chains.
In this eBook, experts will address many of the challenges engineers face in precision sensor
design and explore the technology, tools, and expertise available from ADI to tailor a signal chain
for a variety of optimization criteria. Power management design is also crucial in the design of
precision signal chains; Chapter 6 is dedicated to this topic.
