Driving 12V loads from a 48V IBC requires a solution with a tight output voltage tolerance, as the power management IC (PMIC) is essentially a smart load switch without voltage conversion (Figure 1). Each of the maximum six phases can deliver up to 400W of output power at 12V, for an average current of 33.3A per inductor at maximum load. The total output power can reach 2.4kW.
