The Promise of
Ultra-Wideband

Leveraging high data rates and precise positioning capabilities,
ultra-wideband (UWB) technology is increasingly recognized for
its superior accuracy in location tracking and data transmission
over short distances beyond the scope of Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®, and
GPS. Its capacity for fine-ranging and low-latency communication
positions it as an essential tool in applications where centimeter-
level precision is critical.
While Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have dominated the handheld and
personal data device markets, UWB has been carving out a niche
where those technologies (and GPS) can't perform as well, such
as with accurate position sensing and tracking. Even RFID can't
compare with the features and benefits of UWB (Figure 1).
