Design Tools Further Hinder the Engineering Process
'' Simulations have a
big component of
garbage-in/garbage
out. The industry would
benefit with dedicated
"teaching assistants"
as a resource to
engineers to ensure
that modeling and
simulations are given
the best chance at
being accurate."
For now, however, designers often only use a fraction of tool capabilities because the more
capable tools have a steep learning curve and higher cost per designer. In the long term,
tools won't replace human design engineers, and they should be used to provide insights. RF
expertise and trusted partners are more important than ever.
ADI is helping to solve design tool challenges by helping engineers design RF systems and
blocks right the first time while minimizing cost and time to market by providing:
• Software-defined platforms and high-performance front-end solutions to help meet
rapidly increasing demand for 5G solutions.
• Full simulation using MATLAB models.
• Parameter models, which are generated weekly and incorporated into the ADI library.
• Power assembly simulation tools, including different amplifier simulations to catch noise
and feedback.
• Free resources online like wizards, tools, parameters, and component monitors.
• Design files that show proof of integration, performance, and reliability.
• Many integration tools, including models that test design scenarios.
• Components that have been validated with extensive testing in various
integration scenarios.
• Software and resources to support open-source radio design, MATLAB, and Simulink.
• LINUX support and source code.
• End-to-end testing solutions.
