Many of their antenna solutions incorporate compact form
factors that facilitate the development of miniaturized controllers,
sensors, and actuation devices.
USB Type-C Connectors and Cable Assemblies
Home automation system controllers and components
that require high data rates or large data bandwidths need
USB connectors and cable assemblies. Molex USB Type-C
connectors and cable assemblies (Figure 3) offer PCB savings
while enabling high-frequency mating in data, consumer, and
other I/O applications. The Type-C connectors feature maximum
data throughput of 10Gbps and a current carrying capacity of
5.0A. The 5.0A current rating reduces battery-charging time by
64% over micro-USB 2.0 current rating of 1.8A. These are now
available in mid- and top-mount versions.
USB Type-C connectors and cables that do not comply with
the required USB specifications have been known to cause
electrical issues in computers, smartphones, tablets, and
other mission-critical devices. Such damage can be costly in
terms of hardware, time, productivity, and safety. Molex's USB
Type-C connectors use high-temperature Nylon or Nylon 64
as the housing material and a three-tier insert-molding process
to ensure high mating durability and electrical reliability of the
connector. The connector's mating tongue design protects the
interconnect from possible damage caused by mishandling,
shipment, or assembly processes.

Home automation technology is rapidly
