What Is a Battery
Management System (BMS)?
A BMS uses integrated firmware and hardware
to manage lithium-ion battery packs. A typical
BMS consists of the following:
• Cell voltage monitor
• Cell voltage balance
• Temperature monitor
Each component plays a critical role in
safeguarding a lithium-ion battery from a
variety of performance, operational, and
safety issues.
Ensuring a Singular Look and Feel
for All Connections
TE Connectivity (TE) offers ultra-compact Dynamic
D-1100 Series connectors—some of the smallest
connectors for signal lines. They provide the
necessary position versions as well as the necessary
voltage and current ratings and conform to UL 94
and USCAR ratings. In addition, three contact points
boost reliability in high-vibration environments, and
the different keys enable poke yoke, reliable locking,
and contact retention.
The result? By leveraging the Dynamic D-1100 Series
for your BMS, you can provide for a singular look
and feel for all connections.
This will, in turn, help reduce:
• Issues with product quality
• Battery failure in the field
• BMS variants for different end markets
Behind every good
BMS is a great set
of signal and data
connectors.
