mouser.com/te 37 The SLC4 and SLC2 ranges offer several integrated safety functions, including selectable automatic/ manual restart, self-monitoring of static outputs, and control of external contactors. Because of how the first beam is positioned on the connector side, the curtains have no blind spots in their protected area. Lastly, both products are approved by EN IEC 61496- 1/-2 and ANSI/UL 1998, though the SLC2 cannot be used for safety functions assessed as SIL 2/PLd. TE also offers several accessories for the SLC range, including a laser alignment device, a vibration dampener, a protective screen, and test rods (Figure 2). The features of the SLC range offer improved hazard detection, risk monitoring, and management. Using them also allows industrial organizations to eliminate cumbersome physical guards, enabling more efficient machine operation. Figure 2: Example applications for TE's SLC range. (Source: TE Connectivity) Industrial environments have always been more hazardous than the average workplace. But that's changing through innovations like TE's SLC sensors. " "
