Foreword Without question, PCI Express ® (PCIe ® ) technology has been and will remain the fabric interconnect of choice across general computing and high-speed applications like AI/ML, data center, HPC, mil/aero and more. For decades, PCI-SIG has dutifully worked to double bandwidth every three years. For example, the latest PCIe 7.0 specification, released in 2025, doubles the data of the PCIe 6.0 specification to 128.0 GT/s. Additionally, PCIe remains cost-effective with low-latency for several implementations. All PCIe specifications also maintain backwards compatibility with previous generations of PCIe technology and optimize power efficiency.
