In addition, FireFly allows engineers to place optical
transceivers right next to each other without fear of
interference.
Currently, FireFly solutions support speeds up to
28 Gbps, but Samtec engineers are working to
release 32 Gbps PAM4, 56 Gbps PAM4, and
112 Gbps PAM4 solutions. In addition, cable
options are available for engineers looking to work
with extended temperatures—something critical
in military, aerospace, and industrial sites where
temperatures can easily rise.
