C h a p t e r 4 INTRODUCING SAMTEC'S ULTRA LOW SKEW TWINAX CABLE TECHNOLOGY Samtec's ultra low skew Eye Speed ® twinax cable technology provides engineers with the perfect solution for applications that require extremely high speeds using differential signals. All Samtec cable solutions are made using in-house custom machinery that carefully monitors and controls the formation of cables to ensure maximum consistency— this also applies to twinax cables, which integrate two individual cores separated by a specific distance and surrounded by a carefully controlled dielectric. The high degree of precision offered by Samtec's ultra low skew twinax cables allows engineers to reduce cable sizes by four gauges compared to competitor products, which results in smaller cabling that is lighter and easier to install, and offers longer reach. During the manufacturing of twinax cables, cable impedance and other important characteristics are carefully monitored to ensure that each unique cable has identical performance; numerous proprietary manufacturing techniques allow Samtec to control We use in-house software and materials science that allow us to design and manufacture our cables in an extremely controlled way.
